Sustainable Waste Upcycling Model in Sri Lanka
When addressing the issue of waste, it is crucial to consider the significant contribution made by various sources such as plastic wrapping, boxes, and food packaging. In the past, many individuals adopted an "out of sight, out of mind" mentality, neglecting the accumulation of waste within their own households. However, the emergence of the small-scale social enterprise "Green Life Generation", founded by Mrs. Savandie Abeyratna, has shed light on the importance of repurposing waste. Over time, the venture has expanded its operations from a modest family workshop of repurposing waste to a small-scale production chain of upcycling waste.
